Our Story

Upside began as an idea in 2020, driven by a deep conviction that local churches should play an active role in uplifting their communities. Southside Church, as our founding patron and ongoing supporter, has been instrumental in shaping our mission and expanding our reach. Today, Upside continues to provide accessible mental health services, financial empowerment initiatives, and educational opportunities to individuals and families in need.

Who We Are

As a registered Nonprofit Company (NPC) in South Africa, Upside operates with the same level of rigor, transparency, and governance as public for-profit entities. We are also recognized as a Nonprofit Organization (NPO) and a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Our operations are guided by a Board of Directors, ensuring strategic leadership and accountability as we work toward fulfilling our mission.
